Shooting comet Neowise... From the backyard.
Let’s start off by addressing the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since March 11th I have had shoots cancelled, indefinitely postponed, and this has been the least I have worked shooting since the business started. I have been quarantined here in California for longer than most of the rest of the country while my home state of Arizona has largely remained open and is now paying dearly for it in infections. I am conflicted with knowing I’m safe while social distancing, and losing money and business while it is becoming clear that the pandemic will claim the rest of 2020.
Lately, I have had to get creative and either shoot from the backyard or far enough away from people to stay within state regulations. The once in a few lifetimes sight of Neowise, a close passing comet to Earth, has come. Where I would usually, and often with a few others, travel to an interesting location around the city or to a well known landmark, this year I am shooting it from the backyard.

Shooting from the backyard is less than ideal, but completely possible, my latest shot is full of light pollution and obstructions, but it felt good to just shoot again. With the 23rd of July being the peak night for visibility, I will get another good shot at shooting it and I know what to change.
